Neutral-Density Filters

One of the most important filters you can buy for your camera is called a Neutral-Density filter or ND for short. The purpose of an ND filter is it allows you to shoot long exposures during daytime. Why would you want to shoot a long exposure during the day? Well, long exposure during the day is how you make an image of say a waterfall look really cool, because you can make the water look as smooth as silk. So this week I thought I’d write about night time long exposure as it’s one of my favorite photographic styles. This type of photography can be lots of fun but you need to be careful, especially shooting along roads at night and police will often stop to see what you are doing late at night along a highway.
